Chase's First Day of School and August

Keegan fell asleep with a sucker in his mouth while I was giving him a hair cut. It just looked so cute we had to take a picture.

The two bigger boys after their hair cuts. I told them they could have a sucker if they sat nicely for me. They were so intently watching Winnie the pooh. Which is of course, their favorite show.

Chase and Trey splashing in a pool of water at Grandma Johnston's house.

Trey and Keegan playing with trucks at grandma J's house.

Chase adn Keegan looked so cute sitting in the back of the truck. They got up there and looked like such cute little buddies. They are pretty nice little buddies.

Keegan and his dirty face. You can really tell he liked his dinner. It's gone from his plate, but all over the place.

On August 11 we tried to go to Glenn's Ferry and watch the Three Rivers Crossing. We had 20 minutes to be there by the time we made it to the exit for Glenns Ferry. It should have taken us like 5 minutes to get there. That didn't happen. There was a backup on the freeway because of a train, and sadly we did not make it in time to see the crossing, and neither did hundreds of other people. It's too bad. I guess this was supposed to be the last year they were doing it.

At least a bunch of us were able to get together after we didn't see the crossing and have a picnic together. We had a nice time talking and eating, and catching up while the kids played.

The kids all had a race. They raced and raced and raced. It was fun for them. Poor little Luke was being drug along a lot.

A picture of Emily and cute littel Evie.

We froze lots and lots of corn this year. It seems like we did it for days. I didn't get a picture of us in the house, but here's one of the guys shucking the corn outside.

Keegan and his corn.

Here's a picture of the guys moving a grainery. They ended up putting cement in the bottom of it so they can fill it with grain or corn.

We decided to take one last outing before school started. We were going to take the boys camping. The day we left I had a terrible headache, I now think it was a migrain. We went and watched Monsters Versus Aliens in 3D. The kids loved it and have been quoting it ever since. I was feeling so crummy that Sterling decided to just get us a hotel room. We stayed at the Oxford Suites in Boise. We've stayed there before and really like it there a lot. We went swimming and downstairs in the place for soda and lite appetisers. It was fun, even with my headache.

Bajio's was right next door, so we walked there and just in time too. They were closing, so we grabbed some food and took it back to our room.

Here's a picture of the Boise temple just right outside our window of the hotel.

The second night we went camping at a lake up in the mountains by Burley, Idaho. The lake was lake Cleavland. It was above the Pomerell ski hill. It was so beautiful there. We stayed up there with Sterling's sister Robin and her family. We went hiking on a fun little hike.

The boys and Sterling, hiking up the hill.

The lake was so peaceful and beautiful. The mountains were pretty too. I really enjoyed it up there.

The kids roasting marshmallows, they had a really hard time because it was so smokey.

The next day we went down to Burley and let the kids place in the storybook playground. They love this playground. It is super fun.

We then went to the Gossner Cheese factory and bought some Ice Cream. They have splendid ice cream there. It's sooooo yummy!!

The place is way cute too. It makes you feel like your in Switzerland or Germany. The ice cream is almost as good as over there too.

This is Chase on his first day of school. He did so well. Chase's little friend Ginger and her mom MaryAnn took Chase to school for his first day. We thought he'd have less anxiety that way, and he really did well. I had some people say that he was pretty confident. He likes school, he does think that it is too long. It is a long day, but they learn so much. He does have his off day, but he mostly likes it.

Here are Chase and Ginger coming in for their first day of school for the year.

Chase and his teacher Mrs. Ellsworth. I can tell he's a bit nervous in this picture. He really likes his teacher a lot.
